Mimosa Road

The physical condition of Americans in general is, well, deplorable. The schools have physical education and a number of special programs through the decades to promote physical fitness. Too much food and too little exercise have a highly predictable result, however. Games join TV and social media in the list of culprits most likely to encourage snacking while discouraging physical activity. But, games can switch sides!

Be sure to read Kapp, pages 116-118, Kindle location 3122-3161, about "Helping People Lose Weight." (Actually, "Making Physical Therapy More Enjoyable" on page 119, Kindle location 3161-3173 is along the same idea and short.), plus there is a similar discussion of the Nike+ program in McGonigal, pages 157-164, Kindle location 2623-2724. All together there are enough pages of material to easily get 10 XP, if well written, and one will have to discuss how these programs might translate for school, since neither reading really is directed at school.

Even though it is a game, Nike+ is not fee, nor are DDR (and similar programs), Wii, or the other systems mentioned. So, there isn't an interactive option. That makes this a Pilgrimage.

Use the title "Weight Loss" since that is how the Kapp material starts out.
